I shake my head in pity for the pampered stress free life you have all lived, never having to fight with a shirtless conductor for 20 Naira change, nor having to deal with an incosiderate boss who deducts your salary for coming late inspite of factors that were impossible for you to deal with.
Have you ever had to confront your neighbors over the dangerous gas fumes that are aimed at your apartment window from their barely survviving “I better pass my neighbor” Gen set. You have no right to speak to me if you have never entered a cinema or tasted the special elite bread of Shoprite.
Hey!, what is the longest time you have been stuck in traffic ? , 5 minutes, 10, 15 ?, could never compare to my over 5 hours once on lekki-epe express way and an average of 3 hours a day.
Oh! you good parents, always fawning over your kids, smothering them with time and attention. it is as a result of having time on your hands. You are simply not busy. I see my kids awake only during the weekend.
We are world’s apart, i have been fortunate to have the best performing governors of the fourth republic. Two decades of stability and progress guaranteed by bourdillion and touts have been no mean feat. Your states lack pedestrian bridges, BRT buses, responsive emergency services and the RRS.
Though we are cursed with SARS, SAKS, Badoo, one chance, “dick dissapearing” charms and panties destiny destroyers. What is life without fun and a little danger sprinkled inside.
Many lagosians love lagos and identify with it in pride. Its high time we realise our deficiencies and work together to make it a truly great city. we are only as wealthy as our poorest neighbor.
